The Order of the Guardian Clans
Order of the Guardian Clans

Would you like to hold rank in a legendary Christian Celtic Order?

Our Mission and History

The mission of the Order of the Guardian Clans is to preserve the history, legends, and traditions of our Order and to provide fellowship among our members.

Our order was founded, according to legend, in 1314 by Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland. Representatives of seven leading Clans were the first members. Through the years the membership expanded to other Clans.
Our Order is not part of any secret society, hate group, or political group.

Membership Requirements

Membership in our Order is by personal invitation so if you meet the following criteria, please apply for an invitation to membership by following the directions on this page.

Our members must be honorable men or women who are professing Christians who agree with the Apostles Creed; are of Celtic ancestry; who have reached age 18; have no criminal record and are of good moral character; who agree with our Mission; and who attempt to live by our Code of Chivalry which states:  "By the grace of the Holy Trinity, I  will defend truth, honor, honesty, holiness, the helpless, my fellow members, and the traditions of the Order of the Guardian Clans."

We respect the privacy of our members and so we do not publish a membership directory nor do we give or sell any personal membership data.

Ranks In Our Order

The Admiralty of our Order issues naval-style honorary ranks to our members. This in no way implies that our members hold such rank in any actual national Navy.

Our Order currently has seven Ranks: Chief, Lt. Commander, Commander, Captain, Commodore, Admiral, and Grand Admiral. Members may apply for higher rank each year.

Benefits

What are some of the benefits of membership in the Order?

1. Personal membership in an Order with the proper use of issued Rank and Order. For example, members may use the following format on their personal correspondence so that Mr. Ross becomes: "Commander Ross, Order of the Guardian Clans or Commander Ross, O.G.C."

2. Personal awards of merit and certificates from the Order.

3. Personal invitations to optional annual meetings, formal dinners, and special trips offered to  members and their spouse. These are usually in Florida.

4. Personalized items such as our Certificate of Membership and New Membership Documents.

5. Special publications including a chapter each year in our Grand Book of the Order for members.

6. Connections to a variety of other Celtic interest groups.

7. A unique opportunity to be a member of a fellowship that is a community of friends dedicated to preserving the history, legends and traditions of our Order and the Clans represented by our members.
